This is another example of a Ro-fab house constructed around 40 years ago. This type of house was constructed using a modular concrete panel system. The house was of single glazing and little insulation and the client found it very cold and were spending large amounts on heating oil yearly.
This method of insulation was the best and only real solution for this type of dwelling as they are constructed from solid concrete panels and have no cavities present.
We fitted 100mm of external insulation and polystyrene replacement window cills. There was adequate overhangs all around so there was no issues with cover.
That is why this method is not only a highly effective method of insulating your home, but it is also a highly effective way of cutting your heating bills.
