External insulation retro fit to existing dwelling under renovation. This was a classic example of tieing old in with new. An old house of solid concrete wall construction was to be renovated and an extension added to it. We were approached by a local architect and asked our advise and if we could price the property for External Insulation for the new extension and the dwelling house. We recommended to build the new extension using solid block on the flat, and fittting 6 inches (150mm) of External insulation to the outside of this which would be plastered and rendered (painted) as part of the system. As you can see from the before and after pictures it has completely transformed the house from a visual point of view as well as adding hugely to the insulation standards, meaning the old and new parts of the house blended in together and now they will save hugely on their heating and energy costs.
